Happy 4th Birthday, Natalie!

Natalie celebrated her fourth birthday the end of September in high style! She was the princess of the house for at least a week. (well okay maybe she is always the princess around here!) She talked about having a princess party for at least three months and the week before gave us and her much excitement about the big day. She helped plan the day and was very adament about who was to come. At first she wouldn't even let her daddy or brothers come but she finally agreed they could come for part of it! Our friend, Hannah came over and curled all the girls hair and painted their nails. You would of thought they were getting ready to go to the prom with their excitement! It was a great day and everyone had a blast (even the moms :-) ) I did learn a very valuable lesson in all this planning.. smaller parties are the way to go!! Here is a slideshow of our princess party day!

We are on our way!

Our household has officially entered the world of school!! Tyler started kindergarten a few weeks ago and loves it! This has been his first week of going everyday and he is still excited. He gets up every morning and gets dressed. He will then come downstairs and grab his backpack and walk around the house until time to go. I am so glad that he is enjoying it and it is not a struggle to get him up and going. He asks me everyday so did you miss me today? I am trying to believe he is saying that because he secretly misses me!

Natalie also is going to school this year two days a week. She is my shy and quiet one in group settings and takes a while to become comfortable in those settings. This is an understatement but she is loving her new school. She goes right in her class and sheds no tears. When I pick her up, she gives me a play by play of her day. It almost makes me cry knowing how much she is enjoying it. This is truly an answer to prayer that she is enjoying school and wants to go.

And our little Bryson is off to Mother's Day Out for one day a week. He is going to the same school that Natalie is at so that makes it a little easier on him. He too loves it! I secretly think he just likes to carry a lunch but oh well. He is very animated about all things so this type of environment is right up his ally!

SO.... life in our house has changed and it is all good. I am enjoying some time just for me. On Tuesdays, all kids are at school so I have a few hours just to myself! Whatever will I do with my time! Tyler and Natalie were worried about me that I was going to be sooo sad on my days while everyone was at school... little did they know I planned it all along! So that is what is going on with us the last few weeks... and it is all good!!

Room Makeover

Yesterday was a bittersweet day in our house! Ashley's parents came down and brought Bryson's new big boy bed furniture. This furniture had been Ashley's Grandma Haga's set so that makes it special. All of the kids now have bedroom furniture that was passed down to them from grandparents. We had been talking to Bryson about it and I secretly think Tyler was more excited than Bryson! Ashley and I tackled the task of taking the baby bed apart and storing it. It was such a wierd feeling putting it all away. This baby bed was shared by all three kids and has been a major piece of furniture in our house for six plus years. As Ashley was taking it apart I was remembering when we put it together. We were so excited about becoming parents. Last night I was thinking about how excited we are to have three healthy children and that this is just the beginning of a new adventure in our lives! It didn't take long to get his room all ready for him. Bryson enjoying his new room!
Bryson did great in his new bed last night and stayed in it all night. We didn't hear any fallouts or sounds from him. I put him to bed last night and got so tickled at his eyes when we first turned the lights off. They were so big with wonder and excitement! He would sit up and look around and then plop down and start giggling. It was precious. I checked on him before I went to bed and he was snug as a bug in his bed.
(note: the extra little girl in the picture is our next door neighbor, Ansley.. she was so excited for Bryson and wanted to help celebrate!) So with a slight tear in my eye and a lump in my throat we said goodbye to our crib and hello to a new adventure in our family!

Tyler Turns Six

Six years ago on June 30th.. this is the face that I was looking at and being amazed that God had placed this precious little bundle in our hands!

And now six years later... this is the same precious "little man" that continues to show me God's love daily. He has such a sensitive and caring heart. He loves being a big brother (probably too much at times). He loves being around people and making them smile. He can say things that just melt your heart and I truly believe they are geniune...

Tyler has a big year ahead of him and I can't wait for him to ride out this next adventure! He will begin kindergarten this fall. And I know that there will be new adventures, hurdles to cross, new friendships, struggles, successes, and lots of memories made this next year. I pray that he keeps his childlike faith and trust in the things that matter and continues to seek a relationship with God. He tells me almost daily that Jesus is in his heart and wonders how God can really hold everyone in His hands. I look forward to celebrating this next year with him and all the ups and downs that will come with it!

A BIG DAY

We have hurdled another milestone at the Haga household!! Tyler learned to ride his bicycle with no training wheels today. My dad (Granddaddy) was keeping the kids while I was gone for a few hours. When I arrived home, Tyler had a big surprise for me! He could ride his bike without training wheels. He was very proud of himself and wanted to ride all afternoon. By this evening, he was riding in a circle and on the concrete! We are so proud of him! Here is a picture of our little man on his bike when he first attempted the ride!

Also, over the weekend the kids and Ashley went out on the boat with my parents. We hurdled another milestone with them on the lake. All three kids rode in the innertube and went fast! :-) They were so excited and had a blast. Bryson and Natalie kept wanting to go faster and Tyler wanted them to slow down! I guess that shows us who the daredevils are going to be in the family!

Carnival

This past week, the carnival came to the mall parking lot in Hixson. My parents had taken Tyler and Natalie last year. So as soon as Tyler saw the rides he said... "you have got to tell granddaddy the rides are here!" I decided to go with my parents this year to watch the kids enjoy the rides. AND boy did they love it! Their favorite ride was the ferris wheel and the roller coaster. No fear for them for sure! Tyler was excited to see his school over the trees and Natalie was just excited about seeing the mall. Guess we know where their priorities are, huh! Here are a few pics of them enjoying their time and to quote Natalie at the end of the day.... "this made me happy!" We are not sure if she was talking about the rides or the cotton candy but fun was had by all!

The first time Natalie wanted me to go with her but the second time she went solo!

I love the look of excitement on their faces!
