Our First School Research Project

The time has arrived for school projects to begin! Tyler got his first research project assignment a few weeks ago. He drew out of a box the name of a dinosaur and that was his to research. Of course, he drew one that I nor Ashley had EVER heard of it so google came in handy. His dinosaur was a Dimorphodon. It is actually a flying reptile and not really considered a full dinosaur. We had about a week to research and come up with some type of replica or poster of our dinosaur. Of course, we waited until the day before to get started on the poster. We survived the poster with only one minor disagreement. He was certain that the dinosaur had been blue in its time! After much soul searching, a few tears, and slight raising of the voices, we compromised on brown with black spots and lines. He was so proud of his finished project and can tell you know all you would want to know about a Dimorphodon! Natalie wouldn't have it any other way but to draw her own pink Dimorphodon and I just didn't have the energy to argue on that one! Guess this is one of those milestone with our kids.. school projects. Overall we enjoyed it and I loved working with him and seeing his determination in getting it finished and being so proud of his poster! I hope his enthusiasm for school and learning continue on throughout his school days! One project down... many more to follow!

And the finished poster.....

Wow! Impressive! Glad you all got to learn something new. I wish Will had more assignments like that.

I can't believe he's already old enough to even be doing projects! My, how time flies!

It looks great! I am impressed. I also love what you have done with the walls in the background... they are not quite the floral explosion I remember them to be! ;)
