Stitches, a Princess and other random things

Okay, I have been slacking some on blogging what is going on with the Haga household so this post will kind of be, let's say, random. We have been busy the past few weeks! First, a few weeks ago, Tyler fell at school. His teacher called and said his chin is bleeding pretty bad and it looks like he will need stitches! I gathered the little ones up and off we headed to the school. Thankfully my mom was already at the church so she picked him up for me and met us at the doctor's office. (Let me just brag on my doctor's office for a moment. This happened right at lunch time so I called them to ask what to do. They said bring him on to us and we will work on him during our lunch! Can you believe that? We were the only ones in the office and they took great care of us! That is service for sure!) It was a good thing we were the only ones in there because Tyler DID NOT like the shot to numb his chin. I was practically sitting on top of him and the nurse was holding his head and the doctor was giving the shot! WHEW! The stitches were a breeze compared to that ordeal! He was a trooper for sure. After we were done, he was ready to go back to school! (I secretly think he just wanted to show off his war wounds.) This was our first set of stitches in our house and hopefully the last :-)

Now on to the story of our princess! My good friend Cheryl and her daughter, Hannah, have been in our lives for about 20 years. Cheryl was my matron of honor and Hannah was a junior bridesmaid in my wedding. Several months ago, when Hannah got engaged she asked Natalie to be one of her six flower girls! Natalie was so excited to be a flower girl and throw flowers down. The beautiful dress arrived and the anticipation grew day by day! Then one week before the wedding, she decided I don't want to walk down the aisle! We all left it alone and didn't mention it again. She did great at the rehearsal and decided that she did want to be a princess with Hannah. The next morning, she was beaming and excited. She was the last flower girl to walk down the aisle and she took her time. I am serious when I say it took her about two minutes to walk down to the front! She tried to steal the show! Then when she got almost to the front, she ran out of flowers and just stopped and looked around thinking, "what do I do now?" After some coaxing from the front she made it! The rest of the wedding was so sweet and we are so happy for the newlyweds! The one pic of Natalie and the bride closeup didn't turn out so you just get Natalie!

Natalie (the one with her arm up) was not happy about getting her picture made with everyone!

Fun at the reception

We are all enjoying some warmer days and more time to play outside. God has truly blessed us in our new home and neighborhood. We live in a cul de sac and between the four houses on our end there are TEN little kids with seven of them being under six! We are going to have fun this summer. One set of neighbors have a trampoline so that is usually the holding spot. God is so good. He answered our prayers greater than we could have ever imagined with a good home, good neighbors and great kids for our kids to grow up with in our community! God is faithful!
